Led by our experienced beekeeper, you will learn about all types of bees and pollinators, and the vital role they play in our ecosystem. Then we’ll take a look at the various equipment used in both modern and ancient beekeeping. Using an observation hive we’ll discuss the lifecycle of the honeybee, how and why they make honey, and why bees swarm. Get hands on with a Hive Inspection. You'll suit up in protective gear and get up close and personal with the bees, getting hands-on experience with beekeeping techniques. Together we’ll undertake a hive inspection using all the knowledge learnt earlier in the day. You’re guaranteed to find the Queen!
